Arrow Glacier hardfork on the Ethereum network. bitexbit details

On December 09, 2021, in the Ethereum network on block # 13 773 000, an Arrow Glacier hardfork is expected. The network upgrade EIP-4345 will be implemented to delay the activation of the "Difficulty Bomb" by several months — presumably until the summer of 2022. This is the only change introduced in this hardfork.

bitexbit will suspend deposits and withdrawals of all tokens on the Ethereum blockchain during the execution of the hardfork. The rest of the functions, including trading, will be active. All functions will be restored immediately after the necessary checks of the update are complete.

Arrow Glacier is the third network upgrade planned for the Proof-of-Work Ethereum network in 2021. Earlier this year, the Ethereum mainnet successfully rolled out the Berlin (in April) and London (in August) updates with 4 EIPs and 5 EIPs, respectively.

The difficulty bomb only affects Proof-of-Work networks, meaning it only exists on the Ethereum mainnet and Ropsten testnet. Due to the transition to Proof-of-Stake, it was decided to postpone the bomb launch on the mainnet and try to trigger the Proof-of-Stake transition to Ropsten before the bomb goes off on that network. Have a nice hardfork with bitexbit!
